Use the ANZ NewStand database to find newspaper articles

Search in ANZ NewsStand

1. - Use the keywords  teen crash  

    - Limit your results to 2016.  

    - Select an article about a teen involved in a crash.

    - Email the article to yourself. 

2. - Do the following search "blood alcohol" woman

    - Limit your results to 2016

    - Select two articles about women and blood alcohol readings

    - Put a tick next to the articles

    - Click on Save icon

    - Click on PDF

    - Click on Continue

    - Save the file with the file name Blood Alcohol   onto your desktop

Locate the following sentences in the webpage 

1. Young drivers (17-25 years) represent one-quarter of all Australian road deaths, but are only 10-15% of the licensed driver population.

Comment on this, specifically discussing the relationship between "one quarter" and 10-15%?

2. One-third of all speeding drivers and rider in fatal crashes are males aged 17-25; 6 per cent are females aged 17-25.

Rewrite this sentence so that the proportions are both expressed using the same units, so they are directly comparable.

1. - Conduct this search  "leading causes of death"  site:.gov

    - Click on the Australian Institute for Health and Welfare website

    - Scroll down and analyse the coloured table.

    - Write down the 4 leading causes of death of Australians aged 15 and 24.

2. - Conduct this search "car safety ratings  site:.nsw.gov.au

    - Click on Safety ratings Safety vehicles Staying Safe NSW Centre for Road Safety 

     - Watch the crash tests videos
