Barong (Rangda) Dance

Barong is the village protector; two men are dancing under its heavy body and manipulate its head. 

In the early stages of Balinese society, the life of the people revolved around nature. The rhythm and rhythmical movements of surrounding nature greatly influenced the rhythm of their lives. This undoubtedly affected their dances, which were devoted mostly to the imitation of natural movement, such as that of waves, trees blown by the wind, the movement of animals and so forth...
