Basic Format for Referencing Material from the Web

Format for footnotes for a document from the web:

  • Include the author's name for internet/website references where possible. An author may be a corporate body or organisation responsible for creating, producing or publishing a webpage or website.
  • Where there is no identifiable author or authoring body, use the title of the webpage or website.
  • Use the date of the last web page update or web document update as the year.

Example: 1 B. Harvetson, ‘Greenhouse Gases’, Wilderness Society, Hobart, TAS, Author, 2011, p. 6, http://www.wilderness.org/, (accessed 25 May 2011).
